Children & Preschool

The Congregational Field Staff can provide consultation, assessment, and equipping churches to assist in the development of balanced approaches to reaching and growing preschoolers through 6th graders, including assistance with developing children’s ministry programs, creating and evaluating children’s ministry, formulating job descriptions, and assessing facilities and spaces.

Certification in Children’s Ministry

The Certification in Children’s Ministry is ideal for those who are currently serving in Children’s Ministry or are interested in a life-time commitment to ministering to children and their families. The program is offered through the BGAV Ministry Equipping Network and includes four Core Courses that provide a foundation for biblical teaching and developing a discipleship ministry to reach across age groups. In addition, concentration courses in Children’s Ministry are designed to help participants gain a deeper understanding of how children develop and learn so that the church can better engage them and help them to become life-long followers of Christ.

Children’s Ministry Training

Interactive online courses in Children’s Ministry are available through the BGAV Ministry Equipping Network. These courses can be taken individually or as part of the Certification in Children’s Ministry. Courses include Children’s Ministry 101, Best Practices of Teaching Children, Choosing and Evaluating Curriculum, and other Children’s Ministry electives.

Churches, Associations, or other groups may arrange for onsite training for a group of students. All costs involved in travel including meals, hotel and honorarium for the instructor will be covered by the organization providing the onsite training.
