On Monday, February 6th, a team of 15 left from Richmond through Dulles to Yendi, Ghana. Fourteen people from Bon Air Baptist church and one from Onley Baptist Church. While we are in Ghana the team will get to experience many wonderful new things. We will hang malaria nets, teach pastors, participate in baptisms, plant churches, and visit schools . This will be a completely new experience for 10 members of our team who have never been out of the country.
Otis Hall, the new Glocal Mission Pastor for the church shares the following:
I couldn’t wait to get to Ghana; it was a region of the country that I had not yet visited. All of the reasons that I love to go to Africa have been flooding my mind and heart for the last 6 months of planning. The love given by the people to complete strangers, the joy of seeing God was here long before we arrived and to see the change in the people on the team as we go.
The excitement I have cannot be adequately described. I am excited to go far to be with the same God that I am with everyday at home. I am excited for the hope of new life both here and at home in our church. I am excited to know that God’s grand design includes the team and me going to a place to experience God anew and to return changed and ready to experience God anew every day in Richmond, Virginia.
Pray that we blend seamlessly into the work that is already going on in Yendi and beyond. Pray that a God will be with us and that we will have many opportunities to share our stories with the people of Yendi.
