Statement from John Upton on the Tragedy in Las Vegas

Our hearts are broken by the violent tragedy that occurred in Las Vegas Sunday night. We grieve the lives lost and for their friends and family and we ache alongside those who were injured. Amidst the overwhelming sorrow and confusion, we place our faith in the God that continues working to redeem our hurting world, as the Scriptures say in Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” May God be with us in the face of such darkness as we look for answers and ways to improve the safety of our communities.
