On Sunday, May 3, 2015, the James River Baptist Association (JRBA) hosted its seventh Stop Hunger Now meal packing event at Maysville Baptist Church Multi-Purpose Center.

One hundred twenty-four volunteers of all ages from 12 area churches came out to pack, weigh, and seal 20,690 meals to help feed hungry people around the world. JRBA raised over $5,500 to purchase the food from Stop Hunger Now.

Their contributions were supplemented by the Baptist General Association of Virginia. Since 2010, JRBA has packaged 153,796 meals at a cost of $38,709.55. They have fed hungry people in Haiti, Uganda, the Philippines, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Cambodia, and the Ivory Coast.
