Drive-thru VBS at Bon Air Baptist Church Provides Meaningful Ministry for All Ages

God’s blessings were everywhere…in the parking lot of Bon Air Baptist Church!

Back in early April, as our team was meeting to determine what Vacation Bible School could look like, we had no idea that this drive-thru experience would be as meaningful and such an inspiration as it was to children, youth, parents, and grandparents!

God led us through every detail of the planning “Knights of North Castle,” reminding us that we were providing hope, love, and joy in the midst of a pandemic.

From July 13-25, families were on a Quest, looking for God’s Armor, from their cars. They experienced live music and danced and sang along from their seats. Children threw out baggies of coins into a wheelbarrow, as they supported our mission to purchase Bibles for new church plants in Ghana.

Families would drive up in front of a drama of three different Bible stories – all of which were acted out with large signs, costumes and action! The messages were simple and clear…..in the midst of hard or different times, Jesus gives us courage and our strength and power comes from the Lord, always!

There were many other sights, sounds and bubbles along the way. Towards the end of the Quest, each child received a “To Go” packet so they could make their very own armor at home. Discussion questions along with the full Bible story were sent home and even a Family BINGO game to continue to find God’s Armor!

As many children woke up each morning, putting on their armor, hopping in the car, eagerly awaiting the surprise of the day, God reminded us all, that we are loved, and the joy of Jesus was evident at the “Knights of North Castle.”
