Date: October 8, 2018 - October 11, 2018
CrossRoads Camp & Conference Center
2247 Little Piney Road
Lowesville, VA 22967
All pastors and church staff are invited to join us October 8-11 for the annual Gathering of Silence retreat. As in years past, Gathering of Silence participants will take a vow of silence for the 72-hour period of the retreat (from 12:00 p.m. Monday through 12:00 p.m. Thursday), including silent meals. There will be an optional “speaking” time of community held each evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. All attendees are welcome to hike and enjoy the magnificent beauty of CrossRoads Camp and Conference Center, or explore nearby outlets for hunting, fishing, golf, etc.
This year participants will have the option of exploring our theme focused on hearing the still, small voice. We will be focusing on the spiritual discipline of “Holy Listening,” enhancing our listening approaches and skills in prayerful meditation. Written materials – based on the foundation of Elijah’s experience on the mountain in 1 Kings 19:1-13 – will be provided for daily use to engage participants in prayer, meditation, scripture, and reflection. The guide will lead attendees through practices of silencing the noises of the heart and mind to clear the way for listening more intently for God’s voice. Optional morning and evening vesper services (10-15 minutes each) will also be offered for those wishing to attend. We hope to see you in October for this relaxing and reflective retreat at CrossRoads!
- $330 per person, single occupancy
Cost also includes an optional 30-minute coaching session!
