SURVIVE. Jesus calls all of us to live a life that is less ordinary and more extraordinary! Living that way makes us look and act very different from the rest of the world. So, how do we survive the differences and celebrate them at the same time? Join us as we spend the weekend learning how to survive all that life brings us and how to embrace the “crown of life” that James talks about in our theme verse, James 1:12. God truly does have something extraordinary in store for this weekend!

Main Speaker: Will Snipes

Will Snipes lives in Travelers Rest, SC, and is a 7th grade Language Arts teacher in nearby Greer, SC. Will has served in roles such as camp pastor and director for Fuge Camps, serving at locations throughout the United States as well as in the countries of Wales, Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Canada. On the weekends, he frequently travels to different churches throughout the country to speak at youth retreats and conferences. He also enjoys leading Bible studies for groups of teenage guys and taking them on many hiking and backpacking adventures. In addition, Will writes for LifeWay publications such as Essential Connection and Parenting Teens.

Music: Relinquish

Relinquish is a four-piece CCM band from Roanoke, VA. They first got their start back in July 2009. Since the beginning, their main purpose is to share the Gospel through their music. Relinquish has chosen to serve the Lord through the gifts that He has given them. Fortunately, the Lord has blessed the band immensely, and they have had the privilege to do just that! Ultimately, the band wants to hold true to what they believe in most. Which is expressed in the bands mission statement: “We want to strive to create music that makes a difference, for the sake of the Gospel, in a world that desperately needs change.”

Regarding chaperones, and all others 18 years of age and older:

As a Kingdom partner, we want to do all that we can do to ensure that we are providing a safe and secure environment for the minors and/or the intellectually or physically disabled with whom we work and minister to. To help us achieve this goal, we now require that each church complete a criminal background check through a reputable company for each adult or youth 18 years or older planning to participate in a BGAV-sponsored event or mission trip. Any official background check your church has conducted within the past four years is acceptable. If any background check comes back with a felony or serious driving issue, please contact our business office to confidentially discuss the issue. Any person who is found to have criminal convictions related to sexual offenses or felonies related to children shall in no case be permitted to attend.

This process is not intended to question the character of the individual or their value to BGAV. Our sole concern is that we have done all that we can do to assure all involved that we are providing a safe and secure environment for our minors. Once background checks have been completed for each person, ensuring that all of the requirements have been met, please have a ministerial staff member or church officer complete and sign the certification statement and return to us three (3) weeks prior to the event.

For Chaperones Only
