Bill Miller, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, has served as Minister of Music at Second Baptist Church since 1986.  Bill is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a degree in voice – Music Education. He then attended the University of Louisville, before earning the degree of Master of Church Music from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1983 in Shelbyville.

He is married to Debbie, Head of the Lower School at Collegiate School, and has two sons, Brent and Alan, and five grandchildren. At Second Baptist, Bill stays busy with his ministry, and in music, directs the Sanctuary Choir, Youth Choir, VESPER, CHAPEL, and SECOND handbell choirs, and vocal ensembles. In addition, he works in worship planning and prepares seasonal programming. In time away from the office, Bill has a workshop and enjoys time with family. He also sings in the Virginia Baptist Male Chorale and the Richmond Symphony Chorus.

David L. Weck is the director of The Agape Ringers, founded in 1992, and is delighted to be in his third decade with this talented ensemble of musicians. As music editor with Hope Publishing Company of Carol Stream, Illinois, he is responsible for the Agape division of the handbell catalog, which consists of more than 900 titles. David is in demand as a clinician throughout the year and has been director of numerous national and international handbell events, including the International Handbell Symposiums in Toronto, Canada (2004), Orlando, Florida (2008), and Osaka, Japan (2010). In 2005, he served as guest conductor for the Summer Workshop of the Handbell Ringers of Japan. He was honored to conduct the prestigious Distinctly Bronze events for 2012. In 2013 he was conductor of the Hong Kong Handbell Festival. David has served on the national board of the Handbell Musicians of America and was given the Area 8 Outstanding Service Award. In 2011, the national organization named him an Honorary Life Member. David has also been involved in choral music for over 40 years through music education, church music, and as assistant director of the Chicago Community Renewal Chorus. He and his wife, Jane Holstein, reside in Wheaton, Illinois, where they enjoy spending time with grandchildren, Becky and Jack, and entertaining friends and family.

Please fill out Eagle Eyrie’s Virginia Baptist Conference Online Registration Form AND a Handbell Festivals Registration Form for the Baptist General Association of Virginia.

  • Register with Eagle Eyrie using the Virginia Baptist Conference Online Registration. Costs: $72 (lodge); $92 (hotel); $92 (Voight Center) Fee is per person and includes a $12 Services and Facilities fee, 1 night’s lodging and 3 meals.  BGAV churches receive a 10% discount on prices for lodging and meals.
  • PLEASE NOTE: If your group is local, and will be commuting to Eagle Eyrie each day, the BGAV program fee of $35 per ringer, no minimum, and the Eagle Eyrie $12 Services and Facilities fee per person, still apply.  The Services and Facilities fee is required of all guests, as it covers the cost of insurance, room set-ups and maintenance costs.
  • Complete the BGAV registration form (download form or complete online) by January 19. There is a Program Fee of $35, no minimum. If you register online you may pay by credit card or e-check.
  • Please indicate on the registration form the number of 6-foot tables that your group will need.  Each group is allowed one table for each octave of bells.  Additional tables are available upon request from Eagle Eyrie at no charge.
