The Virginia Baptist Mission Board met at Eagle Eyrie Baptist Conference Center Tuesday and Wednesday for its Fall meeting. The meeting was truly a historical meeting for several reasons. The Board:
- Recognized and honored outgoing Treasurer Eddie Stratton, who is retiring December 31. Staff and Board members presented him with honors, a thank you video, and a renovated hotel room in the Voight Conference Center at Eagle Eyrie in honor of him and his late wife, Susan. Read the Religious Herald article for more details.
- Adopted the 2014 Virginia Baptist Mission Board budget and recommended the Baptist General Association of Virginia budget for approval at the BGAV Annual Meeting in Fredericksburg. The Religious Herald has more.
- Nominated pastor David Washburn of First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, to succeed Eddie Stratton as Treasurer. Learn more about David.
- Recommended that the Baptist General Association of Virginia adopt a new governance structure at the upcoming meeting in Fredericksburg. Please take some time to read the Religious Herald article about what the Governance Committee is proposing.
We are excited about the future of Virginia Baptists. We pray the same is true for you.
