International Church Planting

Virginia Baptists began in 1823 as a church planting movement. While the focus at that time may have been confined to the Commonwealth, the culture of church planting was created and has expanded across the globe.  The BGAV has actually been involved in international church planting for decades.

Individual churches have worked all across the globe with church planting. The first partnership missions effort beginning over 30 years ago saw churches being started in Tanzania, Panama, and other locations. Today our church planting efforts are a little more intentional, strategic, and even, dare we say, passionate!
