Mission Matters: for God’s witness, the Church’s vitality, our own discipleship, and the common good of our communities.

Congregations, local associations, community leaders, and partner agencies are “dropping a pin” in locations across Virginia for two-day events designed to celebrate the unique ways people of faith are joining where God is at work in each region. Join your neighbors in Vienna, Lynchburg, or Waynesboro for conversation, training, and resources that will encourage improved connections and renewed approaches to local and global missions.

Mission Matters content, schedule, and cost will vary by location to accommodate the specific goals and priorities of each region.

However, every Mission Matters event will include the following:

  • Two days of education and inspiration
  • Shared fellowship meals
  • Training in:
    • Disaster Response – recovery or feeding (other disciplines as available)
    • Partnership Missions –destination-specific preparation for Haiti, Ghana, or Romania
    • Community Missions – hunger ministry and community development
  • Keynote speakers, panel discussions, and elective breakout sessions highlighting dynamic leaders and innovative ministries from the host community
