jrba-oiam1James River Baptist Association held its second Operation InAsMuch Mission Blitz in late September. Almost all of the JRBA churches participated in the event, completing 64 projects in Buckingham, Cumberland, Nelson, and Fluvanna counties. 432 folks volunteered throughout the day assisting others in a variety of ways.

The projects included everything from writing notes of appreciation/encouragement to community service workers, military personnel, and college students, helping patrons at local supermarkets with their groceries, cutting and delivering firewood, holding free yard sales, preparing and giving away meals or snacks, giving out coupons at several local establishments, giving out quarters at the local laundromat, delivering goodies to shut-ins as well as community service workers, prayer walks/tents, volunteering at a potato drop, the local nursing home, and a food distribution site, donating to various community non-profits, to yard work and building handicapped ramps.

jrba-oiam2It was a wonderful opportunity to be the “hands and feet of Jesus” in our communities and to show God’s love in tangible ways. The event provided hands-on ministry to the community through service. Our Mission Blitz exemplified the JRBA motto – “Accomplishing Together What We Cannot Do Alone”.

The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of…these, my brothers, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
