Meet Cesar Sotomayor, International Church Planter in Austria

Cesar Sotomayor is one of the church planters that your Virginia Baptist Cooperative Missions gifts helps to support. Cesar serves in Austria and we are blessed to offer our support through a partnership with the European Baptist Federation. He works with many different people groups but his focus has been with Iranian and Afghan refugees in recent months.

Watch a 4.5 minute video and learn more about his work, his challenges, and how you can pray for him. In his words, “God is doing awesome things right now.”

Virginia Baptists have, for years, partnered with the European Baptist Federation to support indigenous church planters all across Europe and the Middle East.

For as little as $20,000 (spread over the course of 5 years) we assist individuals and their families in their church planting efforts – which have proved highly successful.

It is estimated that over 10,000 people have accepted Christ through these efforts and EVERY church that gets started has continued and flourished after the support is completed. Virginia Baptists support church planters in Austria, Serbia, Poland, Latvia and Moldova.

If you or your church would like to become involved in directly supporting one of these church planters then please contact Dean Miller on the Glocal Missions Team. One church is already offering full support and another offering to cover half of the expenses each year.
