N.T. Wright’s God and the Pandemic: A Review, and a Preview of What’s Ahead at the Annual Meeting

Posted 10/26/20 at 7:00am. Video review by John Chandler and Welford Orrock.

World-renowned New Testament scholar, N.T. Wright, will join us virtually this year as the keynote speaker at our online-only Annual Meeting. For those of you who are familiar with his teaching and writing, you already know why we’re looking forward to hearing him with eager anticipation.

If you’re not familiar with him, you are in for a treat. Wright is crafting his message to the BGAV out his familiarity with us as an organization, his insight regarding the Church and its challenges today, and his perspective as a respected biblical scholar.

As we look forward together toward Monday, November 9, when Wright will bring us his keynote address during the 7:00pm worship celebration, we want to give you a taste of his work with this video review of his latest book, God and the Pandemic. Two of our thought leaders, John Chandler and Welford Orrock, share their takeaways and evaluations of the book’s message–and they discuss both the timeliness and timelessness of his overarching approach to the events of the past seven months during the era of the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you’re interested in reading the book, it’s available from several retailers, including Amazon, for example, here.

If you’re intrigued by N.T. Wright and want to hear more in his specific message to the BGAV, register now to join us at our worship celebration online at 7:00pm, Monday, November 9, 2020. Registration is required in order to gain access to the session(s), whether you choose to view them in real time or later at your convenience.
