Latino NetworkThe Latino Network of Virginia Baptists seeks to promote the work of both Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking congregations in Virginia. The Network also stresses the importance of encouraging English-speaking congregations to adopt a multi-cultural mentality which fosters a sense of hospitality toward and outreach among their Latino neighbors.

Fundamental Purpose

Promote training opportunities and resources for Latino congregations and leaders Develop a collaborative force to address the identified needs of Latino communities Foster a sense of familia that bridges cultural diversity among Baptists in Virginia Establish a communication network among Baptists in Virginia serving Latino communities

Our Programs

  • Encuentro for Pastors and Leaders – Annual fellowship and training weekend each Spring.
  • Pastors and Families Retreat – In August at CrossRoads Camp and Conference Center.
  • Certificado en Formación Ministerial – Initiative under the direction of Averett University. Launched in 2009, this initiative offers Diploma- and Certificate-level training in Spanish for Latino pastors and church leaders.

Our Partners

Formed in September 2004, the Latino Network serves as a collaborative efforts on behalf of six partners in Virginia working together both for and with the Latino Baptist community. In partnership with the Baptist General Association of Virginia, these organizations are:
