Grace Hills Baptist Church hosted the Appomattox Baptist Association’s Sports Day on Wednesday, June 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

With 94 participants ranging from children who had completed kindergarten through 5th grade, and 28 volunteers from throughout the association, the day was a great success.

The participants moved through seven different stations which included basketball, soccer, flag football, gaga pit, inflatable (rented) games, snow cone snack station. One pastor from the association brought his bees and taught the children about bees and beekeeping.

After visiting each station, everyone enjoyed a pizza lunch. After lunch, the participants watched and discussed a video from previous VBS material and enjoyed a slide show featuring pictures of all of the stations from earlier in the day.

The Bible verse and theme of the day was Romans 8:31, “If God is for us, who could ever be against us?”

To end the day, the children were allowed to return to the station of their choice until it was time to leave. We were blessed with beautiful weather, great volunteers, and an abundance of smiles and laughter on Sports Day!
