Reflection from Averett Christian Student Fellowship

Corey Williams is a student at the Christian Student Fellowship of Averett University in Danville. Learn more about VBMB’s collegiate ministries at the Kairos Initiative website.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)

Averett University's Christian Student FellowshipServing God has always been a major part of my life. Whether through service to others or Sunday worship, every day I strive to develop a deeper and stronger relationship with him.

And the Christian Student Fellowship (CSF) of Averett University has helped tremendously. What first drew me to Averett was its small, Baptist environment. Being raised in a religious home, it was a perfect fit.

A friend of mine had told me about a group of students that met on Thursdays for lunch and a small Bible study.

I started attending and quickly fell in love with it. It was such a beautiful experience to be surrounded by a cohort with the same beliefs and lifestyle as me.

CSF has really helped me grow in my faith and develop my passion for service and volunteer. One day, I hope to do mission work and even volunteer for the Peace Corps.

CSF has been a great resource for networking and personal. As the book of Zechariah says, “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin.”
