Together for Others in Romania

Roma village RomaniaPosted: 11/20/17 at 11:00pm.

Step outside the walls of your church and be a blessing, both in Romania and in Virginia!

Our partnership with Romania Baptists focuses on five areas:

  1. In youth ministry training we host at least five Romanian church interns each summer in Virginia, as well as send a team of youth ministry trainers to Romania for regional praxis dialogues.
  2. Community missions includes supporting indigenous village missionaries in southern Romania, where there are few Baptist churches.
  3. We have sponsored several Romanian church planters and volunteer teams have helped with outreach and evangelistic services.
  4. The WMUV and Romania Baptist women are helping each other raise awareness of human trafficking in Romania and in Virginia.
  5. Lastly, BGAV volunteers have worked together with Roma churches in construction, in neighborhood ministries, and in the training of church leaders.

Make preparations now to experience the partnership with Romanian Baptists in 2018! We need volunteers for backyard Bible clubs, puppet and art workshops, and youth mission projects in small villages.

There are a few church plants with construction needs, and medical screening teams are always welcome.

The Naomi Women’s Centre ministers to and empowers Roma women – there is special interest in a quilting team or other skilled instruction.

Kairos Romania Kids Ministry 2015
Kids in Romania enjoy singing with the Kairos Team and Providence Baptist Church.

Roma church leaders value the regional training sessions that BGAV pastors can provide. A choir could provide a concert tour during Holy Week, perhaps together with a drama team.

Join a team of local missionaries in southern or eastern Romania and help them to grow their network of Bible studies and house groups. Take a team for visiting the local school and meet the young people of the village. Together with the missionary, you can provide evening events that get people acquainted with the church.

Are you interested in some international help for your church in Virginia? Host a Romanian seminary student for two months in the summer! Invest in a young minister’s life while giving your church an international experience at home!
