Job Title: Interim Director for Music and Worship The Interim Director for Music and Worship will use their artistic talent for planning and implementing a blended style of traditional and contemporary music into the Sunday morning worship service. He or she will also be responsible for assisting in planning the worship service along with the Senior Pastor. The Interim Director for Music and Worship position is flexible based on the talent, experience and desire of the candidate. A minimum of 20 hours per week is anticipated with additional hours possible. Worship is Sunday at 10:30am and choir rehearsal is Wednesday evening. This position is expected to last until a permanent Pastor for Worship and Music is hired or up to one year. Primary Responsibilities: A. Develop and implement an effective music ministry for Sunday worship. B. Coordinate worship service planning with the Senior Pastor and attend that portion of staff meetings if appropriate. C. Conduct Wednesday evening rehearsal with the HRBC Choir along with accompanists which may include organ, piano, percussion and guitar. D. Liaison with appropriate HRBC lay leaders for program development. E. Any other duties mutually agreed upon. Qualifications: A. Believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord B. Be a graduate of an accredited college/university. A music degree is preferred. C. Possess strong organizational and administrative skills, including the appropriate computer skills necessary for worship program development. D. Be a self-starter with the ability to follow through on expectations with minimal supervision. E. Complete a successful background check. Working Conditions: A. Abide by HRBC’s policies, including the Child Protection Policy. B. Work flexible hours to include Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. ** C. Be physically able to use a computer and other office equipment. D. Be able to lead others and to speak in front of a group. ** As mentioned in the Job Title description, hours may range from 20 to possibly 30 based upon qualifications, experience and desire of candidate.
