Main Street Baptist Church 440 South Main Street Emporia, VA 23847 Phone: 434-634-3317 Job Opening: Part-Time Interim Pastor Location: Main Street Baptist Church, Emporia, VA Start Date: Immediate Opening Main Street Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Interim Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and guidance to our congregation during a transitional period. The Interim Pastor will work closely with church leadership and members to ensure continued growth, spiritual nourishment, and a positive church environment. Responsibilities: Worship Preparation & Leadership: 1- Plan and lead weekly worship services, including preaching, scripture reading, prayer, and worship music 2- Preside over Communion & Baptismal Services 3- Ensure that worship services align with the doctrinal beliefs and mission of Main Street Baptist Church 4- Officiate at weddings & funerals as requested 5- Be a resource for church organizations as needed Pastoral Care & Visitation: 1- Provide spiritual support and pastoral care to members of the congregation 2- Make hospital visits, home visits, and respond to congregational needs during times of crisis, illness, or grief 3- Offer counseling and prayer support to individuals and families as needed C. Administration: 1- Collaborate with church leadership to help with administrative tasks as necessary, including coordinating church activities, managing church communications, (Weekly Bulletin & Monthly Newsletter) and overseeing ministry programs 2- Attend church meetings, including deacon meetings and other relevant church committees, if needed 3- Support the ongoing mission and outreach of the church. D. Qualifications: A calling to pastoral ministry and a passion for serving others. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Previous pastoral experience is preferred. Ability to lead worship and preach biblically grounded sermons. Comfort with various church administrative tasks. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the church leadership and members. A degree from an accredited theological seminary or divinity school is preferred, but not required.
