Rapidly growing congregation of over 100 in King George, VA is currently seeking a Worship Lead (part-time/bi-vocational ~20 hours per week) to lead worship and music components of all worship services. We have primarily focused on reaching young families, through Gospel centered preaching, discipleship, and community involvement which has led to growth. Overview: Ideal candidate will lead weekly Sunday worship by guitar/keyboard, accompanied by the worship team and band. Highly motivated and self-directed with strong administrative and interpersonal skills, this position requires knowledge in audio, music, rehearsals, and administration of teams (proficiency with Planning Center desired). This person will also assist in the planning, recruiting of team members, band members, and development of student musicians. The candidate will partner with Lead Pastor to plan Sunday services (including weddings, funerals, and special events within reason). Music style for services may include hymns and modern worship songs (Style: Passion, Elevation, Red Rocks Worship, Phil Wickham, Lauren Daigle, Jesus Culture, Passion, etc.) Responsibilities: • Leads worship components of weekly Sunday services; prepares media/slides and service logistics for Sunday services, using tools such as PowerPoint, Proclaim, Pro-presenter, etc. and in accordance with music license/copyright requirements. • Based on worship planning meetings with Pastor, chooses current songs, music, and/or video elements for Sunday worship service(s) • Sets up rehearsal schedule for worship team and praise band; prepares music for vocalists and band members; leads these weekly practices. • Plans, organizes, and leads special music events such as Christmas, Easter, Night(s) of Worship. • Train and recruit lay people to serve in worship ministries. Skills Required: • Fully committed follower of Christ with a passion to advance the gospel through worship. • Demonstrated commitment to unity and willingness to work in a team environment. • Ability to read music or chord charts along with playing the guitar or keyboard. • A motivated self-starter who can setup plans and lead others with strong administrative and interpersonal skills. • Some computer skills i.e. Google Apps, Planning Center, Garage Band, and PowerPoint. • Have working knowledge of copyrights and music licensing requirements. • Good communication skills, written and verbal. SALARY: $18,000-24,000 annually commensurate with experience HOUSING: no cost option available WORK HOURS: Part-Time, 20 hours per week with required work on weekends. Normal working days are Sunday, Monday evening, and Thursday evening. LEAVE / BENEFITS: none (leave for 1-2 Sundays per year can be accommodated via alternate schedule) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A degree is not required. We prefer 3 years of prior ministry experience.
