A Fresh Wave of Collaboration at BGAV
BGAV reorganizes into five banners to respond to the needs of churches

What do churches and their leaders need from BGAV? And how can those churches and leaders learn from each other?
Launched in November 2024, BGAV’s reorganization into five banners is an effort to rediscover, relearn, and realign with the ever-changing needs of congregations and leaders. This transformation ensures that BGAV remains relevant and effective in navigating cultural change, strengthening leadership, fostering church growth, deepening community engagement, and providing critical resources.
The existing teams within BGAV’s staff are now grouped together in new formations called banners—fostering innovation and collaboration that is already helping churches connect and develop across the Commonwealth and beyond. The five banners, depicted by color in BGAV’s new logo, are:
Mission Development – Navigate Cultural Change
BGAV’s Mission Development banner embraces cultural shifts in ministry. Through Congregational Field Strategists and the V3 Movement, BGAV is preparing leaders and congregations to navigate these changes. In 2025, the challenge will be to help churches not only survive but actively engage in God’s greater mission. By equipping churches with strategies that embrace contemporary culture while remaining rooted in biblical truth, BGAV’s mission remains vibrant and relevant.
Leadership Development – Level Up Your Skills
Church leaders must adapt and expand their skills to meet the demands of ministry today. Leadership Development through Uptick, the Coaching Network, Eagle Eyrie, and Chaplaincy seeks to empower ministry leaders with personal and professional growth opportunities. In 2025, BGAV will aid leaders by offering tailored coaching, spiritual formation, and mentorship designed for their unique callings. These efforts will ensure that leaders are equipped to guide their ministries effectively.
Church Development – Find Your People
Leaders must learn how to find and connect with the networks that offer positive methods for church development. Church Development, through Impact Missions, Fresh Expressions, and Camp Piankatank, helps congregations reach people in fresh ways. As churches face new challenges, BGAV will guide them in maximizing their kingdom impact, embracing new forms of worship, outreach, and discipleship. Churches will discover new ways to draw people into meaningful faith communities.
Community Development – Know Your Neighbors
Community Development focuses on churches engaging with their neighborhoods. By building collaboration between Missio Alliance and the Kairos Initiative, BGAV will assist congregations in building bridges to their local populations. Understanding the needs of their communities allows churches to be effective beacons of Christ’s love, ensuring their ministries address real-world concerns and foster meaningful connections.
Resource Development – Get the Tools You Need
Resource Development ensures churches have what they need to thrive. Through the Executive/Treasurer’s Office, Business Office, Marketing, and Information Technology, BGAV provides essential financial, logistical, and technological support. Ensuring churches have access to these vital resources is key in sustaining and growing their ministries.
Conclusion
BGAV’s reorganization is designed to help churches and leaders navigate an ever-changing cultural landscape with confidence. By focusing on mission, leadership, church growth, community engagement, and resource allocation, BGAV provides opportunities for congregations to connect, adapt, grow, and continue their vital work. This transformation will strengthen and uplift the Church, equipping all for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
