BGAV Sponsors Gathering of Silence Retreat, Now Led by PepTalk Ministries
Dave Peppler assumes leadership of annual fall silent retreat
Dave Peppler knows firsthand how important retreats are—particularly silent retreats—for today’s pastors. He has led the Gathering of Silence retreat for BGAV for the past seven years.
“I wanted to put more resources into the Gathering because of the high impact I have seen it have on ministry leaders,” he explained. In previous years, this annual silent retreat held each fall at CrossRoads Camp has been more than a respite for ministers; it often provides a time of discernment and much-needed communion with God.
Dave’s dedication to the retreat led him to seek responsibility for the event beginning in 2024. His vocational ministry, Peptalk, strengthens pastors by providing coaching, consulting, and retreat opportunities. BGAV continues to be a major sponsor of the event, and Dave is bringing other sponsors on board to help lower the costs to ministers who want to participate.
Commenting on this new arrangement, BGAV Executive Director Wayne Faison said, “The Gathering of Silence is such a critical opportunity for leaders to commune with God and each other. David has great passion and vision to carry this ministry into the future. BGAV is grateful to play a partnership role in connecting and developing congregations and leaders for an ever-changing world.”
