The Impact Mission Camp 2024 season is officially over, and Impact staff are already praising God for the ways in which students were able to grow in faith, learn new skills, and make a positive impact for homeowners and community members. The first week of Impact Mission Camp was in Mecklenburg, VA. First Baptist Church in South Hill housed 150 participants, who completed 10 projects. The second week of Impact Mission Camp was in Danville, VA. Hargrave Military Academy housed 50 participants, and crews completed four projects. During the final week of camp, 67 participants were housed at Melrose Baptist Church, and they completed eight projects in Roanoke, VA.

The theme for camp this summer was Time to Thrive, and the focal Bible verse was Mark 10:27: “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’” In worship and through daily devotionals, students learned about the freedom found in Christ to not just survive in life, but to thrive as part of the body of Christ. Time at camp was a way for students to practice being in community. Working together in a crew, developing relationships with homeowners, sitting around a table for a meal, and worshipping together were all ways in which students and leaders thrived in community during their weeks at camp. The goals of Impact Mission Camp are for students and leaders to take the experience of living, working, and worshipping with the body of Christ home with them to their own communities and to be excited to live out their faith—living missionally in the places where God has planted them.  View more photos from Impact Mission Camps on Facebook.

This year, the Time to Thrive theme will continue for the youth fall retreat at Eagle Eyrie. Churches are invited to bring middle and high school youth for a weekend of breakouts, worship, and fun recreation October 11-13, 2024. A church can register through Eagle Eyrie’s website at eagleeyrie.org. For more information, contact Cadance Tyler at cadance.tyler@bgav.org.
