Kairos Initiative Welcomes David Wade to VCU BCM
Kairos Team Welcomes New Minister at VCU!
The Kairos team is thrilled to announce their newest member in Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM): David Wade!
David will be serving as the full-time Kairos minister at Virginia Commonwealth University.
He and his family will be coming from Suffolk, VA, where for the past nine years he has served as the Associate Minister of Students and Discipleship at East End Baptist Church. In addition to serving a BGAV church, David has been a part of BGAV life in other significant ways including serving on the scholarship committee, going through the Uptick program in 2016, and most recently facilitating the Uptick Catalyst group for the Eastern Shore for the past two years.
David is originally from the Richmond area and is an alumni of VCU. David brings to VCU apostolic giftings to imagine and execute new ideas and creative solutions. He has a heart for discipleship and engaging his students in the community. He is just the right fit for this season of ministry for VCU as we explore how God wants to do a new thing in Richmond!
A quotation from David: “I have a passion and zeal to minister to college students and young adults. As a former student and graduate of VCU, I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to return to the campus to intentionally minister to students. My mission is for the VCU BCM to be “The Salt and Light of VCU,” (Matthew 5:13-16), by evangelizing and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, discipling those who are discerning a specific call on their lives, participating in mission projects and community service, and providing a spiritual covering and pastoral support as the students matriculate through VCU. Additionally, I look forward to partnering with area churches and ministries surrounding VCU. Go Rams!”
David will officially start August 15, just in time for the start of the semester.
Please:
- pray for David and his family as they say goodbye to East End and their community in Suffolk,
- pray for their move to Richmond and finding a new community for fellowship and support, and
- pray for the students and ministry at VCU as they prepare for the fall semester and an exciting return to campus and launch to the new school year.
Welcome, David!
