It’s hard to think about cooler weather now, but fall is right around the corner! As the seasons change, youth ministries kick into high gear. As a youth minister, I remember looking for ways to create lasting memories with my students and get them excited about growing in faith. An overnight retreat is a great way to create community and disciple youth, and BGAV invites you and your students to a youth retreat at Eagle Eyrie in Lynchburg from October 11-13, 2024.

Both middle and high school students are welcome to attend the “Time to Thrive” retreat, where they will focus on what it looks like to thrive in community and live out their faith. The retreat will have two breakout tracks, one for middle- and one for high-school students. Students will have times of worship and recreation and opportunities to meet youth from many other churches in and around Virginia. Church leaders will also have time to network with and learn from other youth leaders.

It's easy to become disconnected and isolated in our world today, and our prayer for this time together is that both leaders and youth will leave feeling rested and connected to one another. We want to excite students of the next generation to live out their faith and thrive together as Jesus followers.

We would love to have you join this community of young adults and leaders! You can register for the retreat at Eagle Eyrie’s website (https://eagleeyrie.org/timetothrive/). If you have any questions about the event, please contact Cadance Tyler at cadance.tyler@bgav.org. See you on the mountain!
