Each year in mid-October, teens and adults with special needs meet at Eagle Eyrie for a much-anticipated, much-beloved retreat. The Special Needs Retreat is not widely known except to those who have attended or helped at some point in its 50 years of existence. For those, it is the highlight of their entire year.

In fall 2025, October 17-19 has been set aside for “A Family Reunion,” an extra-special retreat in honor of the 50th anniversary. Organizers are already beginning to plan activities to remember and celebrate the past and plan for the future.

Initially the Special Needs Retreat was aimed at students with intellectual challenges, but in recent years, there have been more and more students on the autism spectrum who have attended and been accepted into the family.

More details about this year’s retreat will be available soon on Eagle Eyrie’s website at www.eagleeyrie.org. Registration opens July 1.
